A native of Columbus Junction, Joe came to the University of Iowa, and, drawn by the competitive nature of both fields, pursued dual degrees in political science and finance. After graduating in 2011, he joined HJR to help Tim Hawkins day-to-day and to serve as the resident specialist in MoneyGuide Pro, the financial planning software used by HJR. (Joe may very well be the guy asking for your current information.) He enjoys helping clients visualize how small changes in current habits can make dramatic improvements in their financial futures, even as he himself balances saving for retirement (a long way off) with paying down his student debt and living on his own (very present concerns).
